Real Estate Title Insurance

Q. What is Title Insurance?

 A. For most people, their real estate is the biggest asset they have. When purchasing a home, you will want to make sure that you have good title on the property. Title Insurance is a one-time premium you pay that protects the title in your home for as long as you own the property.

 Q. Why do I need Title Insurance?

 A. When you purchase a property, a title search will be performed by an attorney. An attorney can certify their title search, but they cannot certify the legitimacy of the documents. Some problems that can occur are things such as forged documents, deeds executed under invalid or expired power of attorney and undisclosed or missing heirs.

Andersen & Lee works closely with LandAmerica Lawyers Title Insurance Company to write such policies. If you have further questions or would like any additional information, visit www.landam.com.
